According to the National Bureau of Statistics of China (NBS), China produced 297,426 tons of pesticide in August, down regulated 3.49% compared to the same period last year. Among all three major categories,insecticide declined most steeply, with production cut by 25% on a y-o-y basis.  
 
In this month, China produced 145,308 tons of herbicide , increased 4.28% compared to same month last year, accounting for 48.86% of total production. Fungicide production down regulated 5.84% to 11,580 tons, comprising 5.84% of this month’s total production. Insecticide suffered the most deeply decline, with production drastically decreased 25.72% to 32,042, comprising 10.77% of total production.

From Jan to August, China produced a total of 2,491,734 tons of pesticide, increased 1.96% comparing to the same period last year. Herbicide production in the period increased 6.23%, reaching 1,231,631 tons. Production of insecticide recorded 296,891 tons, down regulated 16.7% y-o-y. Fungicide production increased 2.22% to 124,344 tons in the period.
