Clodinafop-propargyl is widely used as a herbicide for the control of annual grass weeds in cereal crops. It has a role as an EC 6.4.1.2 (acetyl-CoA carboxylase) inhibitor, a herbicide and an agrochemical.
Clodinafop-propargyl + Cloquintocet-mexyl Useage
Clodinafop-propargyl
Biochemistry Fatty acid synthesis inhibitor, by inhibition of acetyl CoA carboxylase (ACCase). Mode of action Post-emergence, systemic grass herbicide. Phytotoxic symptoms appear within 1–3 weeks, affecting meristematic tissue. Uses Used for post-emergence control of annual grasses, including Avena, Lolium, Setaria, Phalaris and Alopecurus spp., in cereals, at 30–60 g/ha. Phytotoxicity Low toxicity to spring and winter wheat.
Cloquintocet-mexyl
Biochemistry Accelerates the detoxification process of clodinafop-propargyl in cereals (Kreuz et al., Z. Naturforsch., 1991, 46c, 901–905). Mode of action Improves cereal crop tolerance to the herbicides clodinafop-propargyl and pinoxaden. Uses Used as a herbicide safener in combination with grass-active herbicides (pinoxaden, clodinafop-propargyl) for selective control of annual grasses (Alopecurus myosuroides, Avena spp., Lolium spp., Phalaris spp., Poa trivialis, Setaria spp.) in small grain cereals. Formulation types EC; WP. Compatibility Always in combination with a herbicide (e.g. pinoxaden, clodinafop-propargyl).
